2010 calendars

The first 8 calendars i had printed up for the etsy shop. The top 6 look great, but something went horribly wrong with the bottom two, so i'll be offering those at a discount if anyone wants them.

linky linky to the shop

Only one is listed so far, but i'll get around to posting the rest, eventually.

в Гонконге безумные высотки и киношная атмосфера улиц.. на Боракае кристально чистая вода и пляски на сансэте под любимые трэки, заранее прихваченные с собой.. счастливого столетия )))

The Piano - Xmas 09

FINALLY took pictures of what i did on the piano for the holidays this year. Since we went all crafty this year, our fancy ornaments didn't have a place on the tree, but i love them so i did this instead for our front room. The canvas was only have 100 lights on it, but i went a little nuts with the hole punching and ended up using 200. Oops.
The last shot is upside down for a reason. Thats the way i originally did it, however bri informed me it looked like a snowman hunched over, like he had a bad back. Which was all i could see from them on, so it had to be flipped over. =)

book covers from this year [the ones i could find] both the good and the bad

And i kept forgetting to write about this:

This from the Scotch Malt Whiskey Society booklet. I don't get it, but it paid very well and it amuses me, so whatever.

Print sales this year suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucked. It makes me sad, but is completely understandable.

Apparently one of my print listings in the keepingstill shop ended up on the front page, but i missed it. And of course the flickr account that posts pics of that stuff is weeks behind. Grrrr. But yay! Nice to have my first one for that shop.

The Queen Of Nothing

Titled as such because when my sister and i got back in the car bri asked "so what was she supposed to be in there? the queen of nothing?"

Today was fun. Disappointing in the sense that in i think 5 hours we actually didn't find a whole lot, but still entertaining, and i really like a few of the things that i shot.

Seriously though, brianna has an expiration date when it comes to time in the car. The longer it goes the worse it gets. And she moos at all the cows she sees [which, hello, lots of farmland means lots of cows which means lots of moos] and "horsies!" at all the horses and oinks at all the pigs and so on and so forth. She even rolled down the window at one point because as we were driving down one road ALL the cows turned to look at us. She mooed, offended one who looked like it was going to charge us, and so i made her drive away. She's still saying it just thought we were a weird looking cow and was coming over to socialize. Later on we got "come on now, can't we just stop and talk?!" Meaning to other cows. Then there is the singing and the accents [which ok, i join in on] and it's just nuts. But i love her. I do. I swear.

Oh, and "scenic road" is a joke. We ended up on one [TWICE] that i swear felt like it was 30 miles long, but apparenltly it was only 9. It's the "longest continuous original brick road in the southeastern united states" and it was hell to go down in our little ford focus. We never even made it all the way down. We found it pretty early on, started at the top, went about a third of the way down, took a few pictures, took about an hour to go down, take pictures and go back before going to do everything else, and then accidentally ended up back on it when we were on our way home. We didn't even make it a third of the way down that time before turning around. Every other scenic road was more boring that it. Just dumb.

ANYWAYS. I'll post more eventually.

So technically i will be taking more pictures in 2009, since we're spending the day tomorrow [bri, chelle and i] driving around aimlessly for photo taking purposes, but since i'll be taking half with a film camera [yay!] and god knows i won't be working on them tomorrow, let's just say they are the first images of 2010.

Even though we discussed doing this weeks ago, and said we'd definitely be doing it about a week or so ago, it didn't really hit me till yesterday, and i haven't gotten super excited till today. This is actually something we've talked about doing for a while [like, years] and the reason bri bought me another olympus om-10 LAST YEAR for christmas. The original plan was for it to be done over a few days, but since we can't afford that right now this will have to do. And it will, i'm sure. We're heading west, where it's mostly all small towns and farms and woods, and taking no major roads. And it might rain, which will give me the light i like, and make things all nice and brown and green and earthy. I'll likely be happy, and bri and chelle might end up miserable, but they love me, obviously, and will give me the day. =)

Checking things on a map:

[A is where we live, of course.]

And though they are a little tight in the calf, i'm definitely going to wear the boots i paid all that money for. Guess i'll get to see how waterproof they really are.

And, um, YAY!

Now i have to go figure out what i'm taking with me.

the rest.........[lots of images] )

I kept putting this off because i was full of dread. *l* It seems every year when i sit down and look back, i'm disappointed. But while i'm not Happy, it really wasn't all that bad. And i've got a good feeling about the year ahead.
